Rich in history, the territory of Villasimius presents archaeological finds dating back to nuragic age(XIX - VI century BC),to the Phoenician-Punic domination (VII - II century BC) to the Roman (III century BC - sixth century AD), to the Spanish (XVI - XVII),this last still witnessed by watchtowers and a coastal fortress (Fortezza Vecchia).
The resort is famous for its pristine sea and the many beaches of fine white sand (Campus, Porto Giunco, Notteri, Timi Ama, Spiaggia del Riso etc.).Overlooking a marine protected area (Capo Carbonara), it is served by a marina and by several areas for golf, horse riding, water sports. Its geographical location is outstanding, halfway between the shallow and sandy beaches and the hills covered with Mediterranean vegetation.
